Index of FBI Reports sent to White House, 1939-1945

Over the next few months I’ll be posting various FBI files that researchers of FBI World War II investigations and activities may find useful.

The first in the series is the complete Index (OF10b) of FBI reports that J. Edgar Hoover sent to the White House from September 1, 1939 until President Roosevelt’s death on April 12, 1945.

The originals ranging in length from brief letters containing a few paragraphs to lengthy reports panning hundreds of pages are held at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library and Museum, located at 4079 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY, 12538.

Researchers doing work on FBI investigations and related activities during this period can simply order the report(s) they wish to examine by telephoning the Research Room at 845-486-1142 or email them at Roosevelt.Library@nara.gov.

Good luck! I hope it helps.
